The design of this presentation is to:

 

a)  bring out the truth and awareness of the need for help in overturning Capt. Maraschiello's wrongful conviction.  This will also help thousands of other veterans, especially the homeless, who did not get effective assistance of counsel for their cases before or during their trials.

 

b)  give interested visitors a method of helping Mike by donating money to the trust fund or lawyers (Attorney Steven Compton).  Click "Jpay" for the "How To Help" page.

 

c)  bring awareness to Domestic Violence in Military Families so as to prevent more victims, discuss the "warning signs", foster reconciliation, and assist law-makers change the laws to better serve veterans in trouble with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and the law.

 

This so they are NOT taken advantage of like Capt. Maraschiello was, and his family, wife, and children's lives... they were destroyed.  Especially when the state hid facts, provided poor defense lawyers, gave wrong psychocological diagnoses, didn't provide background checks... nothing was bona fide and verified.  The media was being told a story, and even then all the facts were not given, apparently to mislead and confuse people, especially the jury.  This resulted in a conviction of "L I F E" in prison rather than a more just and appropriate lesser punishment to "fit the crime" as in the 2012 "Downing Case", Clarksville, TN of which "Manslaughter" was rendered.

 

Army combat veteran Downing had an "effective" lawyer who did all the necessary preliminary investigations, tests, etc. and showed the "whole situation" which gave the jury a clear picture with which to render a just conviction.

 

This presentation will have documents and photos to strengthen the above statements.  It will also help facilitate a reconciliation with Capt. Maraschiello's children and victims, etc.
